2024

On 07, 08 and 09 May 2024, the IV International Conference on Education and Teaching in times of social change was held: Past and Present: Education, Science and Technological Innovation from a Historical Perspective, with the participation of international speakers: Prof. Dr Ana Belén Sánchez Prieto (Univerdad Complutense de Madrid - UCM / Spain); Prof. Dr. Lia Viguria Guerendiá (UNED - Madrid / Spain); Prof. Dr. Lia Viguria Guerendiá (UNED - Madrid / Spain); Prof. Dr. Lia Viguria Guerendiá (UNED - Madrid / Spain); and Prof. Dr. Ana Belén Sánchez Prieto (UCM / Spain). Lia Viguria Guerendiáin (UNED - Madrid/Spain); Prof Dr Peter Johann Mainka (Universität Würzburg - Germany); Prof Dr Leticia Maria Ruiz Rodriguez (Univerdad Complutense de Madrid - UCM - Spain) and Prof Rector Mariano Ramiro Pianovi (Instituto Misionero de Estudios Superiores - IMES / Argentina). The event was held in partnership with the State University of Maringá (UEM) and the Classics in Education Interdisciplinary Centre (NICE), and was coordinated at Unespar by Professor Dr Conceição Solange Bution Perin.

On 5 June, students and graduates from the Master's in Teaching: Interdisciplinary Teacher Training (PPIFOR), undergraduate students, teachers and staff from the Unespar campus in Paranavaí had the opportunity to learn about the research of Professor Dr Bojana Kovacevic-Petrovic, who teaches at the University of Novi Sad in Serbia, through a lecture entitled “Cultural Relations in Latin America”. Dr Bojana Kovacevic-Petrovic's visit to the Paranavaí campus was at the invitation of Prof. Dr Márcia Regina Royer, a lecturer at PPIFOR and representative of Unespar's Internationalisation Committee (COMINT), which is responsible for monitoring internationalisation work and establishing a direct relationship between the International Relations Office (ERI) and the UNESPAR/Paranavaí campus. The lecture given by Dr Bojana is part of the process of internationalising the training of master's students at PPIFOR. She explored the interrelationships between different cultures, in particular the geopolitical transformations that took place in the Serbian region as a socio-historical process and their relationship to the formation of South American and Caribbean culture with immigrants who arrived on this continent. The lecture participants learnt about food customs, the educational process and the working conditions of higher education teachers in Serbia, among other things. On the other hand, she was delighted with Paranavaí and Brazil, in particular the hospitality with which she was received.

Women educators in different times and societies: experiences across borders Funding: R$39,950.00 - PROEC/Unespar call for proposals for postgraduate extension programmes. The funds come from a specific CAPES notice for this purpose. The Women Educators in Different Times and Societies: Experiences Across Borders project aims to recover the stories of women who acted to realise socio-educational projects in different Ibero-American places and societies in the 20th century, using documentary sources as well as oral history. The team is made up of postgraduate professors from Brazilian institutions (Unespar and UFMS), as well as professors from the Universidad Central Marta Abreu de Las Villas (UCLV). Master's students from the programme also take part. The group holds monthly study groups. At the end of the project, which will take 24 months, we aim to carry out joint actions at institutional events, exhibitions of historical materials, workshops on document care, publications at events, among others.

On 13 August 2024, PPIFOR students attended the lecture Identity, Memory and Heritage, given by Prof. Dr. Jorge Kulemeyer, from the National University of Southern Patagonia, Argentina. The lecture was attended by students and professors from the master's programme, thus boosting PPIFOR's internationalisation activities. The researcher, who gave his lecture in Spanish, presented the results of a wealth of research, discussing the emergence of certain concepts such as gender, as well as changes in the historical context. He also discussed the theme of identity as a permanent construction, emphasising the culture that constitutes American peoples, particularly indigenous peoples.

On 30 September, Prof. Dr. Merling Murguia Moré - Universidad Central Marta Abreu de Las Villas (CUBA), PPIFOR's guest for the II PPIFOR National Teaching Congress. During her stay at the Unespar campus in Paranavaí, she took part in the defence of master's student Edna Mara Rosa dos Santos Cruz Pessoa, entitled ‘Ensino e Formação Técnica Profissional no Colégio Estadual de Paranavaí EFMNP (1950-1980)’. She gave a lecture entitled ‘Cuban higher education: access for all’ to PPIFOR students. She took part in the panel discussion ‘Socio-educational inclusion of students with specific educational needs’, among various other activities. For Professor Merling, "Science has no barriers when people come together and collaborate. I feel privileged to be part of the II PPIFOR National Teaching Congress ‘Inclusive Practices’, #UNESPAR, Brazil. Days of debate, exchange and scientific growth were experienced. I would like to thank Prof Márcia Marlene Stentzler, my colleagues from the research project, the researchers from the #Nucathe group, the teachers and students from #UNESPAR and other Brazilian universities, and my #UCLVnuestra. I remain convinced that today's teachers are agents of change for INCLUSION."

Unespar, Campus Paranavaí, and PPIFOR had the honour of receiving a visit from Professor Dr Juliana Zapata Galvis, from the Pontifical Bolivarian University, Colombia, between 7 and 9 October 2024. During her stay, the professor gave a lecture and reported on her teaching experiences in Colombia at Unespar's III Internationalisation Seminar. The activity was attended by master's students, undergraduates and teachers, promoting the exchange of knowledge and strengthening the institution's international partnerships. The professor's contribution was essential for enriching research into internationalisation in the academic context, especially postgraduate studies.

Between 30 October and 7 November, Professor Marcia Marlene Stentzler, a lecturer on the Pedagogy/PPIFOR course at the PARANAVAÍ campus, and her PPIFOR master's student supervisor, Letycia Medeiros Soares, undertook international academic mobility through ERI and PROEC/UNESPAR, with research and extension activities linked to the project ‘Women Educators in Different Times and Societies: Experiences Across Borders’. Letycia made observations on the reading development of Cuban primary school children, the subject of her master's research. During their stay at the Universidad Central Marta Abreu de Las Villas (UCLV), in the city of Santa Clara, Villa Clara province, Cuba, they took part in different cultural activities, such as: a visit to the Botanical Gardens and the UCLV campus; a visit to the Che Guevara memory centre and other historical sites in the city. The theme of the activities of the Passantia Programme was ‘Good practices, continuous training and quality education: management from the training of professionals’, promoted by the Gaspar Jorge Garcia Gallo Centre for Educational Studies, with content related to the 2030 Agenda's Sustainable Development Goals.

2023

On 9, 10 and 11 May 2023, the 3rd International Conference on Education and Teaching in Times of Social Transformation was held: Past and Present: Science, Religion, Politics and Education, with the participation of international speakers Prof Dr Michele Szkilnik (Sorbone - Paris); Prof Dr Lia Viguria Guerendiáin (UNED - Madrid/Spain); Prof Dr Peter Johann Mainka (Universität Würzburg - Germany) and Prof Dr Letícia Maria Ruiz Rodrigues (Complutense University of Madrid - UCM - Spain). The event was held in partnership with the State University of Maringá (UEM) and the Classics in Education Interdisciplinary Centre (NICE), and was coordinated at Unespar by Professor Dr Conceição Solange Bution Perin.

On 12 April, Professor Dr Zélia Anastácio, from the University of Minho (Portugal), gave a lecture entitled ‘Understanding the Neurobiology of Emotions and Managing Emotional States to Promote Mental Health’ to the PPIFOR faculty and students.

Professor Dr Márcia Marlene Stentzler and alumna Dda. Cláudia Sena Lioti took part in the Ibero-American Congress on the History of Latin American Education, held in the city of Vila Rica do Espirito Santo in Paraguay, presenting a paper and launching the book "Stories and memories of female teachers in rural multi-grade schools: Paraná and Santa Catarina".

PPIFOR graduate, Prof. Ms. Lilian Maia Borges Testa, who is supervised by Prof. Dr. Márcia Marlene Stentzler, was selected for the ‘Ganhando o Mundo’ (Gaining the World) programme of trainers in action by the Paraná State Department of Education (Seed). She travelled to Canada, where she spent a month studying the country's education system. During her stay, Lilian sought to learn more about the process of evaluating education in that country, and to visualise possibilities for educational practice in our state. The course and her stay were paid for by the state of Paraná.

On 04, 05 and 06 September, Professors Dr Marcia Regina Royer and Dr Shalimar Zanatta took part in the 3rd International Congress on the History of Science in Education, presenting papers in the city of Faro, Portugal.

2022

On 02, 03 and 04 May 2022, the II International Conference on Education and Teaching in times of social change was held: Past and Present - The History of Education in the Face of New Technologies, with the participation of the following international speakers: Prof Dr António Gomes A. Ferreira (University of Coimbra - Portugal); Prof Dr Lia Viguria Guerendiáin (UNED - Madrid/Spain); Prof Dr Peter Johann Mainka (Universität Würzburg - Germany) and Prof Dr Mateu Cabot Ramis (Universidad Islas Balears - Spain). The event was held in partnership with the State University of Maringá (UEM) and the Classics in Education Interdisciplinary Centre (NICE), and was coordinated at Unespar by Prof. Dr Conceição Solange Bution Perin.

 

In 2022, Prof. Dr. Márcia Marlene Stentzler did a post-doctoral internship at UNICAMP, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Maria Helena Pimenta Rocha and did a research internship at the International Centre for School Culture (CEINCE), in Berlanga de Duero, Spain.  At the end of the post-doctoral internship, a cooperation agreement was signed between CEINCE and UNESPAR, providing opportunities for teaching and research exchanges between the institutions.

2021

On 26, 27 and 28 April 2021, the 1st International Conference on Education and Teaching in times of social change was held: Past and Present, which featured international speakers: Prof Dr Michele Szkilnik (Sorbone University - Paris); Prof Dr Lia Viguria Guerendiáin (UNED - Madrid/Spain); Prof Dr Peter Johann Mainka (Universität Würzburg - Germany) and Prof Dr Daniele Obame (Gabon). The event is being held in partnership with the State University of Maringá (UEM) and the Classics in Education Interdisciplinary Centre (NICE), and is being coordinated at Unespar by Professor Dr Conceição Solange Bution Perin.

2020

On June 9, Professor Dr. Joaquim Pintassilgo from the University of Lisbon (Portugal) gave a lecture on “Educational innovation from a historical perspective” in the subject of History and socio-cultural diversity in teaching and learning.

On July 14, Prof. Dr. Cornélia Castro (Primary and Secondary School Teacher - Portugal) coordinated the lecture “Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century: Active Methodologies with ICT” in the subject of History and socio-cultural diversity in teaching and learning.
